Lingam and Prostate Massage: What is it and why get one?

Wheat spikes against a beautiful sunset

Lingam and prostate massages are terms being whispered and discussed in hushed conversations. I’m sure you know what a prostate is, although you probably think that the words ‘problem’ and even ‘cancer’ usually come after. And lingam? That’s the ancient Sanskrit word for ‘penis’.

It’s unusual in our culture to approach these organs with anything other than embarrassment and a cold and clinical examination. In fact, our sexual organs are never treated in a tender and affectionate way by doctors. Whilst our shoulders and back are massaged and tended to, the sexual organs are considered taboo.

The most common cancers in our society are cancers of the sexual organs. Could our neglect of these essential areas be part of the reason for this?

For the past thousand years, our sexuality has been put away in a box and shamed. There has been some shift in peoples’ attitudes in the past half a century and yet sexuality still remains taboo, something to be compartmentalised and separated from the rest of our life.

Compare this to ancient Indian societies were sexual organs were revered. To this day, statues of ‘Shiva Lingham’ (God’s penis) adorn the alters in many Hindu temples. Sexual organs were considered to be a major source of energy in the body.

There are many cultures where sexuality is not seen as something to be ashamed of. Chinese culture has a far more pragmatic attitude and views sex as being about health.

In Asia, it’s possible to receive therapeutic genital massages such as ‘Karsai Nei Tsang’, which are massages aimed to clear blockages in the blood and lymphatic vessels with the purpose of maintaining sexual function and health.

How can some parts of the world revere our sexual organs while others fear them? The answer is simple, sexual organs contain so much power. They contain the power to create life. If you went on the street and showed your penis, you could be arrested. It’s that powerful.

Ancient practices from the Taoist and Tantric traditions come from China and India. Tantric massage can give you a whole new insight into your existence. A skilled practitioner will work to open up your energy flow. As esoteric and strange as this may sound, it’s a tangible thing, a feeling of vibration in the body that can almost be compared to the first time a teenager in the 1990s took an ecstasy pill, except there are no side effects.

As well as being an incredible thing to experience, Tantric massage is deeply healing and effective for a variety of conditions that doctors often can’t help with, including:

  • Sexual abuse and rape
  • PTSD
  • Anorgasmia
  • FGM
  • Pain
  • Infertility
  • Childbirth trauma
  • Male circumcision
  • Impotence and premature ejaculation
  • Pornography addiction
  • Excessive masturbation
  • Sexual perversions including tendency to pedophilia or rape fantasies
  • Feelings of guilt a shame relating to sexuality
  • Low energy levels
  • Excessive negative energy and emotions

If you receive a tantric massage, the practitioner will work on your whole body. This means the whole body, so nothing is neglected, including your lingam and prostate. Massage of just the lingam or prostate is always accompanied by a full body massage as it’s essential to opening and relaxing the body first.

However, the massaging of these areas is essential to what tantric massage is about. You see, tantric massage is an energy awakening massage.

According to Chinese medicine, our main energy point is right in the perineum, between the sexual organs and anus. In men, that’s right under the prostate. Traditionally, this was called the ‘Hui Yin’, or in modern times, ‘the million dollar point’. Martial art students would pay their master 100 pieces of gold to touch and activate this point.

Prostate Massage

The prostate gland is considered to be the master gland by Taoists and its health is of utmost importance. A prostate massage is a preventative measure and is effective for people with prostate problems, and given the endemic rates of these problems, including cancer, it is essential to men’s health. Physical toxins (from chemicals in cosmetics, for example) as well as emotional toxins and traumas accumulate here, causing blockages and eventually leading to problems.

Although the idea of having such an intimate area massaged may seem unusual or terrifying, the massage leads to a deep relaxation of the whole pelvic area. For men who are looking to prolong sexual experiences, it’s very effective in reducing the imminent need to ejaculate. It also heightens sexual experience and orgasm, as well as having a balancing effect on the emotions, reducing emotions like anger, frustration and fear.

The massage targets the biochemical and physical structure of the body and there are clear and immediate benefits. The whole pelvic area experiences release and is much more relaxed. It relaxes the whole body, improves digestion and is useful for a range of psychological disorders such as PTSD.

It is also an excellent treatment for premature ejaculation as PE is caused by an accumulation of toxins in the prostate, leading to an urgency to ejaculate. Once the toxins have been cleared, the prostate can start to experience orgasms. These can continue for extended periods of time and are how a man can become multi-orgasmic like a woman. The results are immediate and dramatic.

Lingam Massage

Lingam massage, or massage of the penis, is a traditional penis massage that has three purposes. It starts with techniques to clear blockages in the blood flow and lymph of the groin to strengthen the erection. This is called ‘karsai nei tsang’. The practitioner works to massage the area much like a lymphatic drainage.

According to Tantric and Taoist theory, negative emotions get stored in your sexual organs in these reflexology areas. This can happen to people who are sexually assaulted, but can also happen to people who have had any bad sexual experiences, such as being shamed about their sexuality, pain from the break up of a relationship, and so on. So, the tantric practitioner will also be working to clear these emotions.

The third part of lingam massage is the tantric secret to full body orgasms. As the sexual energy builds up, the practitioner will redirect the sexual energy up your body. It will rise up to your Heart, creating a palpable sensation, a warmth and tingling that connects your Heart with your sexual area as the energy starts to flow up your body, bringing tingling a euphoric sensation into your head.

This feeling is your sexual energy moving in your body. Instead of escaping as an ejaculation, which most men think is the normal course, it takes a different course, nourishing your whole body with an orgasm. Eventually, the tingling can start to turn into a vibration and then build up into a full body orgasm.

One of the main goals in traditional tantric massage is to move the receiver past the experience of mere ejaculation orgasms into the realms of full body and multiple orgasms.

You might have heard of people having ‘tantric sex’ lasting for hours or days. Reducing your need to ejaculate by learning to channel your energy will allow you to do the same. Tantric healings are extremely helpful in achieving that, as they have the power to remove energy blockages. These blockages keep the energy stuck in your prostate and cause the urgency to ejaculate and overwhelming feelings of sexual frustration.

Tantric Massage and full body orgasm is a life changing experience. Ejaculations are draining, but this kind of orgasm is energising. They are great for your health and energy levels and create a kind of magnetic vibration in yourself that seems to attract and magnetise what you want. When people talk about orgasmic manifesting, this is what they mean.

Choosing the right practitioner

To get the perfect experience, it is very important for you to choose the right practitioner. There are different schools of tantra and different approaches. Some tantric practitioners focus more on giving a sensual and sexual experience. Their sessions are different from traditional tantra with the full body orgasm experience and these practitioners offer ejaculation instead of full body orgasm.

Others focus more on the esoteric, and most importantly, healing aspects of the session. These practitioners focus on removing blockages and negative emotions and opening up the flow of energy. These sessions can take 3-6 hours or even longer. It’s important to know the difference between sensual and tantric massage

A note of warning: because Tantric massage goes so deeply into the core of your being, into your soul, be careful who you go with. Check they have trained in a school and look at their website so you can understand their outlook and philosophy. You can find a qualified tantric practitioner in our tantric massage directory among with therapists offering other treatments. If you don’t feel you are ready to do the work on yourself, perhaps finding an erotic massage provider and taking a step towards exploring your sexuality might be a good starting point.

There are some good UK therapists listed in this directory, which is rapidly growing. I’m based in London, although I also give sessions in European cities and also in Thailand. Good luck with your research. Best wishes, Kate
